Need help windows decorations

I just put ubuntu 10.10 on my netbook everything is fine except after changing the visual effects settings my "windows decoration" the max min and close buttons on top of my windows is gone .I made sure the windows decoration tab is ticked but that does not work help.

Did you install proprietary graphics drivers? If yes, press Alt+F2 and a run box should appear. In that run box type

compiz --replace

and hit enter. Does that do anything?

If you are using the desktop edition go to System > Administration > Additional Drivers for driver installation.
