    Question create a vertualized version of an existing linux partition

    wondering if there is any way to load up an existing linux partition in windows with vmware or another client

    You could clone it and then restore the image onto the VM.

    thanks, but im pretty new to linux so how would i go about doing that, and would that give me an identical copy of the linux partition or just a snapshot of it?

    It would give you an exact copy.

    I use clonezilla to do that.

    You'd just need somewhere to store the image so you can restore it on the VM.

    thanks! this makes life much easier, i just store the clone in my storage partition where it is acceptable from both os's
