Wireless USB N300 Netgear install

Boy I feel stoopid missing the "n", I have to laugh because I checked it like 10 times... oh well it was a long night! I started from memory before the thread opened so I hope I didn't mess anything up doing it out of order, anyway:

I took a quick look at the link and will try that tomorrow currently I am installing a fresh 3tb drive in this pc and don't want to mess it up I will post the results. again I will say that I am stubborn so I aim to get this working. thanks again for your help, not trying to get sappy but it reminds me why I want to use ubuntu rather than Windows... community support rocks!

So I am brand new to linux and really want to not be pushed away but this network thing is annoying me to no end.

I read through several different forums and post to try and get this to work.

As it stands right now I somehow was about to get Ubuntu 13.04 to see the wireless WNA3100 USB adapter and says it is connected to my wireless router. It will even connect to sites for about 90 seconds then it just times out constantly. Can restart and surf before it times out. I do use WPA2 encryption but it seems to still cause issues even if open network.

I am really sorry to be so new at this platform but I really dont want to give up and move back to Win7. Any help would be great, thank you.

spend US$12 for a new known working device and be done.

can you recomend an adapter for a 64bit ubuntu desktop (ubuntu is 12.04) I would prefer to be able to go to a store and buy it but if thats not possible that is all right.
