    Why does Flash freeze?

Ok... So I have been using 64 bit 10.10. And before that 10.04.

I intitially thought it was a questionable AMD quad core CPU, so I killed that system. Now I am running a dual core Regor.

So when I am surfing on some of my favorite adult themed (and legal) sites, my browser freezes. This was ONE of the reasons I killed and sold that old system (along w/ the TLB bug concerns).

It's flash video. And I am frustrated because I have no issues in Windows.

    I am running 64 bit 10.010 w/ an AMD Regor x2 245 and 8b RAM.

Anyone have ideas? My browser just grays out...

This is a very popular problem today. This is probably my third referal to FlashAid.

    Re: Why does Flash freeze?

Thank you!!! I have installed Flash-Aid. Now the video just says "LOADING". It never loads. I am wondering if it is a problem with this \dirty\ site and not actually a problem elsewhere.

It does the same under Mint and Debian Squeeze. It actually never loaded the video w/ these. Ubuntu quit after flash-Aid.

I might try 32 bit as well...

aristotlewilde, do you use the 32bit flash player, in other words, from the repositories, or is it the native 64 bit version from Adobe labs?
Another question, are the sites flash based? Not the videos, but the sites themselves?

    Re: Why does Flash freeze?

Sites are not flash based. Only the video. I was just using whatever was automagically installed. Then whatever Flash-Aid installed killed it wholly.

The flashaid addon doesn't support all websites. In fact, AFAIK, it only supports a handful - youtube, vimeo and matacafe.

Problem solved by using Opera as browser. As a matter of fact, installing the Opera plugin made Epiphany and Chromium work as well.

Firefox is still a dead issue.

    Your computer is flash frozen?

    Cool!

Sorry, couldn't resist the double pun.
