Question Lubuntu 12.04 on Opltiplex GX260 becomes painfully slow

    Hello All,

I have installed Lubuntu 12.04 on a Dell Optiplex GX260 (Pentium 4 1.8 MHz , 1.24GB, Intel graphics). It boots up alright but after a while it becomes painfully slow in a way that scrolling a web page is inconvenient. I'm sure hardware is good enough because it starts just fine. I suspect there is a problem with the new Linux kernel or something crashes after a while because I have had older version of Linux on the box and it was just fine. Any help is appreciated.

press control+alt+delete, check if you have ram when you are slowing down. it may show only a few free megabytes.

if you can't upgrade your ram, please use firefox or xxxterm
