What's "Desktop CD for 64-bit Mac"
I'm gonna install Ubuntu on my Mac, and checked how far 11.04 has come. I see a download for "Desktop CD for 64-bit Mac". What's special about this image? Will it preinstall some of the stuff from the Mactel repos? Why is a separate image needed? Space issues?
At first I thought I'd install 10.10 and do a dist-upgrade in march/april, but now I wonder if it's better to use the mentioned image.

Definitely do NOT install 11.04, it is not near done yet.

I'm aware of that
What I meant was that if the 11.04 mac-image is cool, I'll wait for 11.04 before installing Ubuntu on my mac

I'm not positive, as the cd image repo is down right now (giving me 404), BUT if I had to guess, I would think it is a image compiled for the PPC platform, but don't quote me on that... Does it run on your machine?

Haven't tried, but I got that reply on #ubuntu+1. That it's an image with the PPC-stuff built in, instead of the dedicated PPC-image that was before.
