    How to transfer files from ubuntu HDD to virtualbox xp virtual drive?

    hi, i just installed windows xp with virtualbox and want to know how to transfer files from my ubuntu hard disk to my virtual xp hard disk.

    makeisofs from folder and mount it on virtual box cdrom.

    what's a makeisofs? and how can i mount it?

    ups mkisofs, read man mkisofs. maybe there is gui way to do same all you want is iso file with data and that command can do this.

    mkisofs -o data.iso ~/Desktop/data

    I think what the OP wants is sharing files between the virtual XP and the ubuntu host. You can do that through shared folders. Create a shared folder in virtualbox, and then inside the VM (in windows) browse to

    \\vboxsvr\

    you should see the share(s) there, and you can read/write to them.

    oh ok, so this way it would be like sharing files through a network connection. if i understood correctly

    i made a shared folder but for some reason i can't access it on windows.
