When you are in the terminal mode, go to the directory where the script 'Switch_intel.sh' is located. Then, type:

    Code:
    sh ./Switch_intel.sh
Reboot after. Your system should then boot into the intel mode. BTW: post the output of the latter command here into this forum. Thx.

So please, before all: What have you done? Did you already install mtrons scripts via this deb file or are you using other scripts only (2 scripts from message #1)?

The more precise you are the more we understand and the better we can help.

No, the scripts change nothing at the boot up sequence. Only at shutdown the display-settings script sets the gpu (and prepares the config) for the next boot.

Is there anything missing / not working for you? If so i'll try my best to fix it but it's working very nice for me here.

Have you got a idea to solve it?
    Hello!

/usr/lib/nvidia-current/ld.so.conf just points ld to the nvidia libs. on debian the proper path is /usr/lib/nvidia/.For squeeze you might want to use the helper scripts provided by the packages "libgl1-nvidia-alternatives" and "libglx-nvidia-alternatives" to do this.

I'm not sure about your second question (have not used debian since 2004) but "update-alternatives --config gl_conf" just sets the proper paths for the nvidia libs as provided by ld.so.conf, so if you use the native debian helper scripts from above there should be no need to fiddle with this.

I tried once but it was done in a hurry somehow. I remember that I couldn't start the X server. I will try again the next days.

When I used your first scripts I had problems with Compiz during switching from one card to the other one via a boot. I found out that one needs to copy some libraries when going to the Ion card. Do you work with Compiz and do you deal somehow with the libs for compiz?

What do you mean? By using the intel graphic chip you consume already ~half of the power.

Re: Asus Eee PC 1015PN - graphic cards: Optimus and ION

Have had the earlier version of this working for a few weeks now untill I allowed for todays system update...
Along with that the nvidia libglx.so.270.29 driver arrived and kinda broke my system a bit.... Im no longer able to get any further than the splash window when booting in nvidia mode. It also stops me from doing much else but reboot... Switched back to intel now, but I would like to go back to the earlier nvidia driver or know if you have the same problems?
