We already fixed his problem. He fiddled with the glx libs and broke the script.

Anyway.. For others with non-working glx : The diaplay-settings script has a recovery function for this situations. Just call

    Code:
    sudo display-settings fix
@ Barthus: could you please put a fat warning in the first post that this will only work for the Asus EeePC 1015PN ? No need to try this on other Eee Models. It will fail and most probably leave your system in a broken state. (just to scare people enough

Will this work with 10.04 LTS or just 10.10?

Well, It's not a good idea to use 10.04 at all on this netbook. It needs newer nvidia drivers, newer alsa drivers, newer acpi packages (and so on..) than published in the lucid repositories.

So you will save yourself a lot of headache if you use maverick.

Will this work with 11.04? Just got one of these, and was wondering if I would be wasting my time trying to get this to work on 11.04

Would honestly probably be ok with 10.10 - but usually like to run latest if i can!

the manual method as described on the wiki page will work also on natty.a user reported that the auto method with the gui script is not working.

i did not test natty till now, but i promise to get everything in place until natty reaches it's release date at the end of April.

    Hi,

i am having a problem with the intel card´s resolution. I have ubuntu 11.04 64 bits, mtrons VGA-Selector GUI is working for me, i can switch between intel and nvidia, but with intel the system starts with 640x480 res. With xrandr i can insert the right resolution (1024x600) but it only works for the session. I tried editing xorg.conf like described in http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution to make it permanent but it doesnt work. Does anyone else have this problem? any ideas to resolve it?

    Hello!

Yes, this seems to be caused by "invalid" horizontal sync settings in the xorg.conf file for intel.

I've updated the acpitools package and added some new stuff. Get the new deb from http://ubuntuone.com/p/pPr/ and install it (you don't need to uninstall the old version) with

    Code:
    sudo dpkg -i acpitools_0.3_all.deb
Let me know if this fixes it.

    Changelog for acpitools_0.3:
    * fixed the glx libraries regeneration after a nvidia driver update
    * fixed xorg.conf.intel
    * added automatic Desktop Enviroment detection (Unity, Gnome or KDE) to use native toolkits for the vga-selector-gui
    * added kde native kdialog gui to switch VGA chips (so no gtk stuff needed any more)
    * added support for encrypted homedrives. (.vga-selector file is moved to /tmp in this case)
    * added zenity or kdialog as package depends (depending on DE)

I will update the howto for natty in the coming days.

    Cheers!
