I'm starting to think these may be incorrect warnings or something. The bootstrap.log says
Code:
warning, in file '/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 3 package 'dpkg':
missing maintainer
Says the same about the one near line 48.
I see by this below that the maintainer is there.

Homepage: http://wiki.debian.org/Teams/Dpkg
Original-Maintainer: Dpkg Developers <debian-dpkg@lists.debian.org>
Any thoughts on this? Should the maintainer be listed on lines closer to where the log says? Should I even worry about it?
