Trouble connecting and staying connected to school wifi!
I've noticed that switching to Ubuntu about 6 months ago has made it noticeably more difficult to use the free wifi at my school.
When I had Windows 7 on the same laptop, it was much easier to establish and maintain a connection. I know it's not the hardware.
My question is: is there some security setting that makes it difficult to use public wifi on Ubuntu?
Also, I don't have this problem at home on my WPA2 home wifi network.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Re: Trouble connecting and staying connected to school wifi!
If you would provide some details, perhaps someone could help you. For example: does your wireless adapter work "out of the box," or did you have to do some jiggery pokery to make it work? What is the SSID of the school's router? What security does the school use?
