    Question Configure ubuntu server

Hi guys, this is my first issue so i have to explain my situation:
I have ever worked in windows enviroment, but i have ever hope to work in linux, but i never have a chance to do it since now. Ok, in my job i got a chance to configure a server from zero. I very glad, but i dont know the "know how" to start. i have to install a webserver and publish a site(apache, php, mysql and public ip). I really need to figure out how to do all that issues, at least from where i can start. Thanx a lot!!!

    Re: Configure ubuntu server

Start the Ubuntu Server Install on your favourite test machine. During the Installation select: LAMP (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PhP) and probably OpenSSH (for remote log in) and maybe some other things you want.

Once you are done with the installation - put your favourite website into /var/www and see if it works, when you point your browser to your new server. After that - you will probably want to read up on configuring your installation. A good place to start, with some additional ressources pointed out, is the Ubuntu Server Guide.
