    Question Hostname change - networking

Having perfectly installed Samba and enabled sharing for a remote printer and various document files, I thought to make things clearer on the other network computers (win7) I would rename the Ubuntu machine. However, once renamed my Ubuntu machine was not visible on the other machines. I checked all the settings tried uninstalling - reinstalling Samba, rebooting etc all to no avail. Changed the name back and everything snapped back into place. Anybody any ideas?
