Arrow How can I save a video file in cd/dvd?

    Myfile.avi is 693MB long.

For this and future cases I would like to know how can I save it to make a dvd or movie-cd.

This time, I want to save it in a 700MB (80 min) CD-R in a Ubuntu Hardy system with Nautilus, Brasero, Serpentine, KAudioCreator, K3b, KMid, MPlayer, fmpeg, Totem and many other media applications installed.

    1. How can I get media info about the file? (apart from the info in the Audio/Video Tag on the file properties window which cannot be copied)
    2. What info is relevant to the ways I can save the file?
    3. In what ways and how can I save the file in the CD? What types of CD I can create besides a data file with the file in it?

Sounds like you want DeVeDe. This will let you make video DVDs out of simple video files.

Thanks, that sounds ok. But, unfortunately, there is almost no information about the application on their website.
Do you know of more tools/programs/applications like that? Still, I'd like to know of a simple program to obtain the basic media info from a video file.
