So in 10.10 for some reason I can't play wow and record my desktop without dropping frames when it records (not on the fly). Like I never had 100% cpu usage and frames dropped in 9.10 or 9.04 (i have a few solo's up on Youtube).

However, decided with Cata and new mounts in 5 man dungeons i would show how to solo stonecore/vp. So I start recording stonecore and my frames are dropping here and there and like 100% cpu usage.

So I searched the web, and recordmydesktop says try 16bit. So i do that, srsly a 35% drop in CPU usage.

1. Why is that?

2. Should I care?

3. I can't notice in the 5 minutes i was in WoW a huge difference. But maybe I just didn't take long enough to check it out.

4. Can anyone tell me why it uses so much less?

5. And does anyone know why in 24bit it seems to be using more CPU then it did in 9.10/9.04.
