    ubuntu 10.10 + mobile broadband

    Hi,

I have searched this forum and the web for a solution and couldn't find any.

I am from Sri Lanka and have Dialog connection.

I have Ubuntu 10.10 and a mobile broadband modem. This modem has .HSDPA... logo. So I don't know the brand actually.

Under windows it installs the software and connects without any problem. But I want to switch my win XP at home to ubuntu thus I am trying this modem at my work place under Ubuntu 10.10

the usb is detected. At least I guess so. I got the following msg

    dmesg | grep -e "modem" -e "tty"
    [ 0.000000] console [tty0] enabled
    [ 0.275750] serial8250: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
    [ 0.276156] 00:0d: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A

I also entered the details into Mobile Broadband under Network Connections.
Now how do I connect it?

    Any help appreciated.
