sound in presentations viewed by ooimpress(open office)

There are 2 computer. On one of them when i launch presentation in ooimpress sound works. on another it doesn't and there is always silence. it doesn't matter it ifs openoffice or microsoft office presentation

computer on which its working has instalation of Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. Its my development machine, so there is really lot of stuff installed

computer on which all presentations are silent is installation of ubuntu 10.10 32bit, and its computer of my parents which is used only for web browsing etc. however in all other applications i tried sound works, only openoffice is exception. working applications - firefox+flash, vlc, skype, rhytmbox, ...

any idea what could be reason for this? maybe some package which must be installed and isn't? i tried to comprae installed packages on both computers but list of differences is simply too huge

IIRC, the sound can go to the /gallery folder of the user profile, see [Tutorial] The OOo user profile. Check your system and copy the sound files in the user profile of the second machine.

thanks, but its not my case. sound is embedded in presentation (if i rename file to .zip and open it as archive i can see it in media)

I tried on Windows Seven and it works. On my Ubuntu box (10.10), it crashes as soon as OOo tries to play the sound (I use the vanilla version)...

The sound is send to the gallery when saved in .odp but can't read the sound in Impress.

interesting, for me it doesn't crash, just remain silent
anyway it seems thereis something broken in openoffice, i might report it to ubuntu bugsystem and see what happens
