Battery Indicator Disappearing, No Time Estimate

Sometimes my battery life indicator (part of Indicator Applet) disappears. It's hard to say under what circumstances it does so because the panel autohides so I only notice it's gone later on. I think it might be related to suspending my computer, but maybe not. It can be a bit unnerving not knowing how much battery life I have left.

Also, when the indicator is there, it only tells me a percentage remaining and not a time estimate. Is there some way that this could have been disabled?

Re: Battery Indicator Disappearing, No Time Estimate

By default, Ubuntu will only show an Icon for the battery when the battery isn't full. I also prefer to have it available all the time, so I change it too. You can access the setting by going to System > Preferences > Power Management. There, you can go to the General tab and select how verbose you want the indicator to be. I personally like "Only display an Icon when a battery is present".
