    Question Making shortcut.

Hi everybody. I'm totally new in Ubuntu. Just installed Ubuntu on my laptop along Windows Vista. I really like Ubuntu and now i can see the differences and feeling it ! I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 and i have little question.
    1. Is there any possibility to make terminal on shortcut? For example in windows, windows + r is the "Run".
    2. Is there any possibility to make shortcuts in just the style i want? In windows i could copy some shortcut of programs to C:\Windows and rename it what i want. And after that i could run the programs directly from Run.
Looking forward to see the solution. Thanks.

on desktop, hit alt+f2 and type in gconf-editor to enter editor. then navigate to: apps/metacity/global_keybindings and you can assign shortcuts to whatever you want...
terminal is: run_command_terminal, double-click it to edit and type key combination you want. mine is <Mod4>F1, that means windows logo + f1...
