    wireless router print server

    Hello group -

I want to set up a wireless router w/print server (mostly for the print server functionality but i also like the multi-RJ45 ports) and have found several likely appliances. But i've run into an information/experience gap...most of these devices seem to have limited lists of supported printers.

Question is: How likely is it to work with my HP Deskjet 6540, which is pretty generic and well supported by the Linux community, but is also kinda old and not explicitly "certified" to work on something like the Asus RT-N16?

    Thoughts welcome.

    Thx

    Reid

    Re: wireless router print server

    Hello,

I own the Asus RT-N16. I just read that it supports most printers. I have not tried it yet as a print server but will eventually with my HP deskjet 940c. I love the router except the asus firmware is somewhat buggy. Many who own this flash to dd-wrt, tomato usb, or oleg. I have yet to generate the courage to do that.

If I get my printer working with this I will let you know.

    Sincerely,

    Marcia
