Simple Graphic application to process screen captures

Hello, I am looking for a simple, lightweight graphics application which allows me to:

    1. Paste screen captures into it.
    2. Crop screen captures
    3. Resize screen captures
    4. Add text to screen captures
    5. Draw arrows (not required but nice)

The Gimp does that but it does so much more that I am loathe to use it. To me it is like killing flies with thermonuclear weapons.

    Love,
But but, in the wholetaken it is not only only as long as the fart is not too large (Don't go too fast)

There are plenty of apps available if you do a search in synaptic, name only, with the search term "paint".

I suggest you look at tuxpaint, gpaint, xpaint, or any other of those which seem to do what you want.

You could use compiz's annotate effect for drawing arrows and then take the screen shot
f-spot can do the rest (annotate can draw text) except add text and supposedly it can resize but idk how I can find no control for it
i use wine to run ms paint some times

Shutter is a screenshot app that can do all of this. You can install it from the 'shutter' package.

Thanks, shutter is great. It appeared for me in Accessories and after executing it once it is recognised by gnome-do

I had installed all the graphics applications that appear in the screen capture below and none were as easy to use as the gimp.
