    Simply selecting a Gimp layer

When working with multiple layers in Photoshop, it's easy enough to move your cursor over something and select that layer by using a keyboard shortcut and mouse click.

In Gimp, there seems to be no such option. I have to select the Move tool and then click on the area; Gimp then highlights that layer but doesn't select it (unless I move it). I then have to go to my layers and scroll through them until I find the layer that I want, in order to edit it.

    Really?

Unless I'm missing something, is there no way of quickly selecting a layer in Gimp?

    Hi,

    You can try PageUp/PageDown.

Thanks, but that's not what I meant, as it requires you to use the layer menu. In Photoshop, I can simply [shortcut] click on the, say, blue colour and that layer will be selected.

I don't want to have to go and find the layer in the menu, manually.

Yep, I see what you mean, and this is something I was looking for in the past, but forgot...

    Hopefully there is an option
