No sound in Banshee Ubuntu 10.10

I have a Dell Studio 1747 It has HDMI and intel sound cards
both sound cards work, and practically every application has sound but banshee. I had this problem before, but that was on lucid which was upgraded from karmic. Now, I am using a clean install of maverick, and no sound from banshee. There was sound before, but then I tried to get my headphone jack working, after reboot, no sound from banshee

ok, I disabled my hdmi sound output and now I have sound in banshee. I don't use the hdmi port, but I would like to have it available, what exactly is my problem?

I don't know if you're still watching this thread, but I got this exact same problem... I use HDMI audio and banshee never works first time, but everything else is fine. The solution for me was to play a video or something before opening banshee, then it seems to work just fine. I've no idea about a more permanent solution or even why it happens, though.
