    iPod Touch Support

    Hi there,

I have just got a new iPod Touch 4th generation, currently running iOS 4.1. I am having difficulty syncing it with Rhythmbox (or any application!), as it seems to go un-recognised! It currently is not jailbroken.

Is there any way to mount and sync music with this iPod? My old nano used to work just fine in Rhythmbox.

    Thanks

    Re: iPod Touch Support

    Hi,
    Glad I am not alone
Unable to sync with rhythmbox or gtkpod. It is being recognised, can read everything but I cannot write new music to the ipod. I used the libimobiledevice! PPA from Paul McEnery.
I also used usbmuxd from the experimental debian branch.
gtkpod gives a warning message after syncing (unsupoported checksum type).
    Any ideas someone?
    Cheers

You have to wait until support is added. Apple can and will implement changes that break compatibility with 3rd party tools from time to time. If you want to use new Apple products you have to accept the limitations that they impose (like using iTunes).
