    VirtualBox: No USB Options

I run WindowsXP in VirtualBox through Ubuntu, all latest versions, and I don't have the selection for setting up USB in the settings menu. Please help.

you probably did install the open source virtual box.
Only the closed source virtual box from oracle will support usb devices.

    Re: VirtualBox: No USB Options

Only the full version of Virtualbox downloaded from [URL="http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads"], not Virtualbox-ose from the repositories, has USB support.

you might want to try vmware player as an alternative to virtualbox
although its not open source its free
and for me there is a huge difference in the performance when you compare the two of them
having said that i haven't tried virtualbox 4

You should consider VirtuialBox, It is always free and, bit for bit, (pun intended) better.
Here is a comparison of VirtuialBox and VMware.
