Unhappy USB Flash Drive to RAM

I want to make one of my flash drives into virtual ram. The problem is nobody seems to know how to do it for Ubuntu. If some one could direct me to a page or some tutorial for it that would be awesome. I could also be going at it the wrong way I basically need more ram to play games like StarCraft 2 but I have no money for the cheepist stick of ram. Any help please thanks .

even if it was possible, flash drives are incredibly slow and wouldnt help you very much.

How much RAM does your computer have at the moment? What flavour of ubuntu are you running?

1Gb is fine - the flash drive will not make much difference to you - if anything, it will make matters worse.

A hard-disk swap drive would be much more useful (and faster) - see this link for more info.

It didn't work, it still says I'm below minimum requirments if I ignore it the download will start but I get a runtime error and it shuts down on me.

Re: USB Flash Drive to RAM

Here is some info about running Ubuntu in RAM.
Since it is running in RAM the speed of the flash drive does not matter.
I understand that this method will work on a 4GB drive.

This looks amazing and people who come up with this are genuses. I have a question though do I need to put in all the commands because I looked at the file and it's a program when I go to run it I cant get anything to work.

It is a script but I have not tried it yet.
You could try asking on that page, Terminator14 checks it I think.

Here is another that discusses that method:
