Cursor question

I'm using 10.04 lubuntu, and, as I was looking through some pictures a friend gave me, I began to wonder something. Is there any way to edit my cursor appearance? Specifically, change the loading cursor to a .gif image, and also change he appearance of the cursor when hovering over a link. Any help is appreciated.
