Yay or Nay on an Archos 101

I been considering buying an Archos 101 8Gb since Amazon got them on stock again any opinion from a Linux perspective. Do they interact well with an Ubuntu desktop? It mainly for light browsing and tweeting in front of the TV.

Most all Android devices should just mount fine like any other normal storage device in Linux. Android is a great OS and have had nothing but good experiences with it. Good luck!

Sweet, I was looking into an android tablet, but all of the ones archos had ran on android 1.5.

I was going to save up for a 1080p monitor, but I'll save up some extra cash for this baby!

Why does it only have a 3-star rating though?

I highly recommend the advent Vega.(only available in uk) but your need to install the custom Rom provided by modaco to get all Google android applications to get the most out of the device

I also hear the archos 101 only has 256mb but recently got 2.2

Yeah, not only is it Android to begin with, but Archos actually advertises the fact that the system can be wiped and replaced with Angstrom, an open source competitor.
