Facebook Multiple File Uploader not working

We are using Maverick Ubuntu Netbook Remix on a eeePC and trying to use the advanced uploader on facebook to upload photos. The simple uploader works fine. When we try to use the advanced uploader, nautilus loads fine but when you select pictures and choose open, nothing happens. I read on a few websites that the facebook advanced uploaded uses ActiveX and Java. I tried installing Open JDK and Iced Tea along with Firefox and that did not help. The real kicker is this works fine on my regular computer running Lucid Linx. I may have something installed on that thing that makes it work but I have no idea what....any ideas anyone??

Here is the ultimate kicker. Uploading multiples can be done in Shotwell, but not when you want to add to an existing album - known bug. So this will only work for new albums.

F-Spot crashes on the facebook plugin...
