    Anything I should avoid???

My current desktop needs replacing. I am using 32 bit 10.10.
When I am looking at a new one are there any components/peripherals I should avoid to make my life easier.
I tried 64 bit about 3 years ago, but frankly gave up because a lot of things were a hassle. Is there any advantage of going 64 I don't do heavy number crunching....any advice will be gratefully accepted
    Cheers

I installed 64 bit earlier this year and found no difference in difficulty to that of 32 bit except for faster media rendering. Now that 64 bit flash and java are around its quite straightforward.

One thing worth baring in mind is that nVidia is better supported on Linux than ATi is. Wireless devices have still got relatively bad support, so if you're buying a wireless network card or USB stick, then check it's compatibility on this website: http://linuxwireless.org/.

The main advantage to 64-bit is the ability to use more than 3GB of RAM without having to use a PAE kernel.
