Red face Login screen Ubuntu Classic Desktop doesn't

Updated Natty yesterday now setting login screen to Ubuntu Classic Desktop doesn't work. Is this a bug? How else do I get Ubuntu Classic Desktop back?

I'm not at all interested in losing an inch of screen to "Unity". I want my screen for my applications not for big hieroglyphics. Besides that, the top line of the screen is black altogether and I lose that too.

    Thanks much, Jerry

open ccsm and uncheck unity-plugin (all the way at the bottom) , that disables unity .
if it ain't broke you haven't tweaked it enough

Well, today's update fixed the login screen problem. Probably temporarily....

Ronacc, how do I open ccsm? I tried typing ccsm on a terminal screen and it didn't.

    Thanks, Jerry

use synaptic to install compizconfig-settings-manager or in a terminal
    Code:
     sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
if it ain't broke you haven't tweaked it enough
