Hey folks. I just finished setting up iTunes through Wine, and it boots up nicely, with no issues except one: My iPod Touch isn't showing up in the side panel when it's plugged in.
Basically, the only reason I'm doing this is so I can update the firmware (I'm without a Windows machine).
Am I missing some sort of USB plugin for Wine, or is this something else?

Booo . . . I don't like that at all. Stupid iTunes and the rest of the world deciding to hate Linux.
Is there any way to work a firmware upgrade for my iPod Touch? I'd rather not have to use someone else's computer.

Considering you are talking about something as sensitive as a firmware update, you are much better off doing it the way it is supposed to be done and not shoe-horning it through Wine and Linux. Find a Windows machine (or Mac) and use that to run it; firmware updates can far too easily "brick" a piece of electronics to risk trying to do it any other way.
