    Transmission BitTorrent Proxy Config

So I am running 10.04 and I am trying to configure everything. In transmission, I am curious how to use the feature "connect to tracker via proxy". Will this help me remain anonymous when downloading? I have already checked the box for using a random port on every time transmission is started. Any other tips of this sort are greatly appreciated.

    Re: Transmission BitTorrent Proxy Config

Hi and welcome to Ubuntu Forums, may you enjoy your stay!

Well, proxies are not secure enough for downloading torrents, in my opinion.
I think you should use an encrypted VPN(Virtual Private Network) instead.
If this is for pirating (which this forum of course does not support), I would especially recommend using an encrypted VPN.

You could for example take a look at Hotspot Shield here.
There is a guide on installing it in Ubuntu here.

    May your days be merry.
