    Which historical figure did the most for computing?

    I'd say Hitler; he inadvertently created the pressure to build the ENIAC to calculate mortar arcs.

    He gave IBM plenty of work too, as they designed & built the system that tracked all of the prisoners of war including all of the death camps:
