After several hours of troubleshooting, I give up and am turning to the community for help. I recently bought a eeePC and installed Lucid Remix. I had to start with Lucid because Maverick crashed on the install. I did an in-place upgrade to 10.10 and have no sound. I had no sound in Lucid either.
Now, I did notice that in the Maverick live disc, the computer had perfect sound.
Here is what I have tried thus far:
Installed pavucontrol no luck.
Checked alsamixer and unmuted everything and turned the volume up on all channels
The pavucontrol shows the audio meter hopping so I know the system "sees" the audio...it just doesn't play it.
Tried this:
Tried reinstalling pulse/alsa packages (while removing the .pulse folder) no luck.sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r)
Added this line to alsa-base.conf...no luck (options snd-hda-intel model=auto)
Here are some system stats: PLEASE please help...I am going crazy!
