    Hi and welcome to the forums najmisaufi

    With all due respect, it doesn't really make sense to post your problem in a thread that has had no answers for more than a year now.

    It is also not considered good netiquette to hijack other people's threads.

    Anyway, I suggest you start by placing the wubi.exe and downloaded Desktop ISO in the same folder and then run the executable.

    If this does not work, then go to Start > Run and paste this in:
    %temp%

    Find the wubi error log and post the contents here so we can try and figure out what is going on.

    i am having a problem as mentioned in the mega thread
    Problem #1:
    You have Wubi installed and are unable to boot either Ubuntu or Windows.

    so what i hv did was:
    i installed ubuntu 11.04 using wubi and partitioning my e: giving 17 gb to it.(But i hv my windows xp in my c: )
    after installing ubuntu i did my coding and surfed the net for few hours;then i restarted my pc in xp did some work and then again restarted in ubuntu.

    problem:
    but when i shutdown my pc and turned it on a few hours later i saw was a message "This is not a bootable disk. Please insert a bootable floppy and press any key to try again..."
    and when i press a key it says "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key" and then keep on giving similar messages.
    The solution provided is not helping me as i dont have a recovery disk and not able to understand the terminal commands and things as i am not able to open anything but just this screen pops out whenever i turn on my pc.

    so any type of help will be appreciated
    ps:i am newbie to linux

    I have installed WUBI in Win 7 & later migrated to disk with all the settings intact. No problems.

    Also, if u don't have the Win 7 CD, there are other alternatives to boot in - search in forums. I am not able to find the link right now.

    i have a problem when i installed ubuntu

    Please try booting from an Ubuntu CD/USB in live mode (Try it without installing) and run the bootinfoscript. Then we can see if the drive has failed or whether something is preventing the bootloader from finding the OS.

    This is likely caused by a bad CD. To test, boot from the CD (press a key when you see the little keyboard icon, and run the "check cd for errors" option).
    Or instead, download the ISO yourself, place in the same folder as wubi.exe and run wubi from there. (Make sure you have the matching releases between wubi and the desktop cd iso as described here).

    I tried installing the newest version of Wubi onto a removable hard disk, partitioned with 30 GB(separate from what windows is on), and I am getting an error when trying to start Ubuntu, saying that wubildr.mbr is missing or corrupt. Windows 7 works fine, but I have no idea what to do.

    Sometimes you can see removable media within an OS - in this case Windows, and so you can install on it - but in order to boot Wubi the media has to be visible to BIOS. It sounds like it isn't - that would explain the error you are getting.

    You could just install Wubi to C: instead. There's not much to be gained by installing Wubi on a different drive unless you are short on space.

    If you're sure that your bios can see the removable hard disk (in other words you can go into BIOS and select to boot from it) then there might be another problem.
