Website not opening..

Hello,
I have a dual boot of windows xp and ubuntu 10.04 LTS desktop edition. I am preparing for engineering entrance examination and I need to see these websites everyday - www.vidyamandir.com and www.100percentile.com

The problem is that these two websites run smoothly in windows but they do not open up in ubuntu at all. I also tried google chrome in ubuntu but I can not open these websites.

Please tell me how can I access these sites. These are very important in my preparation and I don't want to run internet on windows as I don't have any antivirus software.

both websites opened fine for me. What happens when you try to open them?

The website just does not open.The browser shows that it is opening the website.. the orange mark in the bottom right corner goes to nearly.. 75% and no further and nothing can be seen except the blank page.The page does not load even after 30 minutes.. although I have a broadband connection and the same opens in seconds in any browser in windows..

Both run fine on 10.10. Could be 10.04 lacks something, or could be a temporary problem due to the network. Do you have a Live CD or USB of 10.10 to see if that works?

I don't want to run internet on windows as I don't have any antivirus software.

Download MS Security Essentials. I have to use Windows 7 at times, and it works well for me; the cost is $0.00.

Are you using Wireless internet? Are you sure that your Wireless network adapters are supported in Ubuntu? Perhaps you should try to connect to your modem/router via Ethernet.

All the mentioned sites in this thread could be accessed. It's working without any issues. You need to check few factors,
Are you connected? What about others sites? Clear your cache & reload it to check against other sites. Check your firewall too.
Have you changed your DNS apart from your ISP? If yes, stick with your ISP.

I am running 10.04 and I can confirm that these sites open on both Firefox and Chrome.
