when i was meeting with my current college about transferring there the admissions guy told me that the government has been taking people who get busted hacking and making them hack for the gov. purposes.

Don't be ashamed of your country. Your country has supported many other nations in times and place not publicly known. Be ashamed of the lack of reasonable control over the political processes that allow it to happen. Truth might hurt, but it is the best way to clean the table.
