Help making a Ubuntu flash drive [stuck with UNetbootin]

I been trying to make a Ubuntu boot flash drive to recover data from my laptop. I installed UNetbootin and Ubuntu (desktop/10.10/64bit) onto my desktop.
I then opened UNetbootin and picked Ubuntu from the top, then checked Disk image ISO, picked the right drive and started it. Downloading Files gets completed, then it gets stuck at 0% on Extracting and Copying Files(Current)..

Not sure what to do.. would really appreciate any help

(im on a library computer running windows xp)

If you are using a downloaded ISO, you don't need to select it from the top option. Just select the radio option for ISO, browse and select your downloaded ISO.

Also, Make sure you format your USB first.

There's also the Fedora USB tool, which has a Windows version. I haven't tried it with non-Fedora distributions, but if you cannot get unetbootin to work, possibly give that a shot. https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/
(this one doesn't require you to format your USB)

The top option is for downloading the iso if you don't have one.
