Ok, find what tar.bz2 file you want to install, install it as normal BUT, don't open it.
You have to save the file to your downloads folder, then go to your downloads folder and open it up!

OR if you don't want to do that, just go to your Ubuntu Software Center and download it there ok?
It ain't braggin' unless you can back it up.

Hello karanraj and welcome to Ubuntu.
The usual way to install applications in Windows and Ubuntu is different. In Windows you download an application from the web and execute it to install it.
In Ubuntu installation is handled by an application manager such as Ubuntu Software Center (which is much like Add/Remove Programs in Windows).
So I'd suggest you use Ubuntu Software Center to install blender (the version is up to date).
The only reason for manual installation is if you need a specific version not available in the official repositories.

    Well ... First things First.

You DON'T go to a website and try downloading from there.

    Open Software Centre (Applications/Software Centre)

Type Blender is the search field

    Click on result

    Bingo

If Blender doesn't appear in your version of software Centre then that probably means you haven't added Medibuntu repos.

Follow the how to HERE to add them
