Reading AVCHD files

Hi, does anyone know of any good software to view AVCHD files from a Sony Handycam? I have imported all the pictures to Shotwell just fine, but I can't find my videos.
I found this previous post, but it makes no sense to me.

Download VLC from the ubuntu software center. Right click on the AVCHD file and press open with VLC

Hi, I have VLC already downloaded, but for some reason I can't see the AVCHD files when then the camera is connected. Is there a code in the terminal that I can use?

Have you looked threw every directory on your camera?

Found the files, transfered them to PC and working well with VLC.
