Question Ubuntu Server 10.10 64 bit guest VMware Workstation

    Hello,

Has anyone tried to setup a Ubuntu Maverick Server 64bit in VMware Workstation 7?

I did but when the installation is finishing I cannot use the arrows and "page up/page down" keys from the virtual window.

The actual behavior is that when I press the "up/left/right" arrow nothing is happening.
The "down" arrow is behaving like pressing the "enter" key and "shift+pgup" or "shift+pgdown" (to scroll the terminal) doesn't work either.
That means that you can't really do many things from the workstation or vmware player terminal.
The only workaround so far for me is to install an ssh server and connect to the machine using ssh.
I have no problems with other linux variants.

VMware tools are already installed as the installation used the auto install feature of vmware workstation.

My host operating system is a Kubuntu 10.10 64 bit.

Re-installed the system using the manual installation (not the auto install provided by vmware) and there is no problem now...
