    Question Flowchart design software

    Good evening to everyone,

I would like to get some of your suggestions regarding design software, for example a program for designing of flow charts

I have used "dia" and it works pretty nice but I would like to know if there is any other program capable for the same manner.

    Thank you.

Inkscape is a vector art application with a flowchart tool. It's probably not what you want, but I believe it's more powerful than Adobe Illustrator, a program I used professionally for about five years until switching.

+1 for Inkscape. I've also used it and found it to be absolutely fantastic.

    Post Re: Flowchart design software

Actually you all reminded to me "Inkscape" which was a default program in the previous release of Ubuntu, Lucid Lynx

I searched for "Kivio" through the web (since I didn't find it in the software center) and I read very good descriptions about it. What stopped me from installing was the Kubuntu enviroment.

I conclude to use the Open Office Drawing. The reason for that was that I have never used it before. I was always using Dia (but sometimes is really hard, especially when you leave the program for some time and then you have to remember how it works.....

Conclusively, all proposed programs were just a magic of open source! constitute exactly an appropriate tool for creating such a task (flowchart).

    Thanks again!
    Have a nice night.

A bit late now, but Xmind is nice for flowcharts - and cross-platform too.
