UEC storage questions

I'm going to be installing multiple 10+ node UEC's in the upcoming days. I had a quick questions about storage on the nodes. In your UEC, is each VM limited to the resources of a single node or does the cloud combine resources to give a VM the ability to use multiple nodes resources?
