Ubuntu one ties up memory, internet

I've been trying to use Ubuntu one. I bought some music from the store and the music store is great. However, whenever ubuntu one is connected, it seems that it work the processor to death and slows down the internet to a crawl . . . the machine (a netbook) becomes almost unusable. I tried dropbox, and there is no problem, but I'd rather use Ubuntu one . . . just like the idea of open source better. Is this common, or is there something wrong?

I've had problems uploading , I had to cancel and try later and I wasn't monitoring at the time . Download works fine though .

My experience is similar . . . though the only thing I've downloaded was the music . . . and I didn't realize it, but I already had it in a hidden folder. However, I need to upload as well as download. Being able to easily sync two machines could make my life much easier. Dropbox works, but I can't sync evolution there.
