How can I ditch the Unity interface?

My laptop (Acer Aspire 6930G) runs 10.10 like a dream. On my netbook (Asus 1001 pX) 10.10 sucks. And it uses the Unity interface which I suspect as being the problem. Apart from that I don't like it (the unity interface) - so I would love to know how to get rid of it.

    Thanks,
    John

from synaptic, search for "unity" packages installed, then remove/purge them

and install an other choice like lubuntu-desktop

You can disable maximus and netbook launcher in the startup applications applet.

just purge netbook launcher and maximus and use uubuntu desktop.. works like magic (not so sure with the unity thing though)
