home-built Catalyst drivers that usually are built because older and stable drivers don't support your video card will have this watermark until you downgrade to your OS-distributed driver package that supports your card.

It's unavoidable. Just a note: The Watermark is an OSD. Turning your brightness / contrast all the way down will show as such. Hence, when taking screenshots or recording video on screen, the water mark will not appear.

That doesn't help me, when I am looking at it all the time...

Other question: Is it easily possible to downgrade to 10.12? Because with this version it is possible to remove the watermark, as you can read some posts before.

I updated to the new Catalyst 11.2 and the watermark is gone. Thanks to AMD and all the nice people in this forum!

Ok, I'm new to ubuntu, just done installing the basics but I'm stuck at installing the graphic drivers for my 6850 to.

    Following this guide
    http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...ivers_manually
to manually install the drivers should work?

I've tried installing by going to system > administration > additional drivers which didn't work (black screen at startup) and I've tried installing by downloading the .run file directly from amd website (same result)
