    Reduce login timeout interval

On the CLI, when I type my password wrong, it takes about a second for the prompt to re-appear. Is it possible to reduce this time-out without recompiling the kernel?

I understand the security risks involved with this.

    Thanks for any advice.

You can change the delay in /etc/pam.d/login.
