I've tried all of these commands, but I'm still randomly losing sound in Minecraft SMP.
Thank you. This (original post) has solved the problem with sound working and randomly stopping working in Minecraft.
Glad to hear creepers again
Edit:
Seems it's still not working 100%

Ditto: still a problem here.
I tried adding padsp at the beginning of the command, but it still randomly cuts out after a varying amount of time. Sometimes it cuts out after just a minute or so, sometimes it runs fine with sound for 20 or 30 minutes, then cuts out.
this may not help and may be slightly late but have you tried raising the priority of minecraft while its running seems to work for me.
I love you OP.
I get this problem when I run that command:
Code:java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "javaw": java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:460) at net.minecraft.MinecraftLauncher.main(MinecraftLauncher.java:31) Caused by: java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory at java.lang.UNIXProcess.<init>(UNIXProcess.java:148) at java.lang.ProcessImpl.start(ProcessImpl.java:65) at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:453) ... 1 more
Minecraft still runs, but the sound randomly cuts off like before.

That combined with padsp works to get rid of lost sound but you'll hear the sound crack within 30 minutes of playing.
