    Just go to Software Centre and search for MP3 Tag Editor and install any one. Use this to update the album art. I think Rhythmbox should also allow you to change album art, I am not sure.

    Easytag can change album art, but the interface of the software leaves a lot to be desired. But it works for me, and should work for you. This is how I do it;

    1. Locate your folder containing the music files you want label art for.

    2. Select all these files and the go to the pictures tab to the right

    3. If no image is displayed, then press the green plus icon, and locate a .jpg file of your album art. Select that file and then click on the little round button to the right of the image. And then save the changes.

    I hope this helps you.

    Re: how to change album art for mp3 or any audio files?

    Using EASY TAG i am able to change my album art in my laptop and i am able to view my album art when i play through various media players ( e.g. VLC, Rhythmbox, Banshee etc. ) in my laptop, but when i transfer the music to my SONY-WALKMAN NWZ A845 i am not able to see any album art. That is my problem, earlier in windows through windows media player i used to do it and it used to work like a jiffy, please someone help me to resolve this issue.

    I've used eyed3 ( available in the Software Center) and like it. It's great if the command line is your thing.

    Try updating only one of the mp3 tags - ID3V1 tag or ID3V3 tag and see.

    Mutex023, I'm not following what you are referring to. Could you elaborate, please?

    Re: how to change album art for mp3 or any audio files?

    MP3 tags have two versions V1 and V2. Usually most tag editors allow you to edit/add both the tags, or any one. Some even provide the option to copy the id3v1 tag to id3v2 tag. The V2 tag can store more information about the song than a V1 tag, like album art for example. Some times the information about a song having just a V1 tag, will not be displayed on modern mp3 players, since they might be just reading the V2 tag. Hence the suggestion.
